Expansion Shopping Centre Stadshagen in Zwolle

Shopping centre Stadshagen in Zwolle is being expanded with supermarkets, shops, social and cultural facilities on the west side. The expansion includes a total of approx. 41,500m² GFA.

In addition to the commercial and social programme, the project also includes approx. 180 houses, an underground parking garage with 248 parking spots and a parking garage with 122 parking spots on the 1st and 2nd floor.

The development combination Dura Vermeer and Lidl Nederland have won the selection issued by the municipality of Zwolle, together with architectural firm De Zwarte Hond.

Discounter Lidl is added to the centre as third supermarket, surrounded by shops in a new square and a shopping street. A 'City Foyer' will be situated on this new square, the social and commercial heart where shopping, working and gathering come together.

Structural Design

SWINN was tasked with creating the structural design of this expansion of shopping centre Stadshagen. Because various functions are stacked, the challenge is to make a clear, structural design with pure lines without negatively impacting the architectural design. A wonderful challenge!

The expansion is due to be completed in 2023.
