Projectinformatie
Steel structure with hollow-core slabs
The structure consists of a steel frame of tubular columns and SFB beams with hollow-core slabs on the ground floor, first floor and roof. Stability is provided by wind bracing within the steel structure and the diaphragm action of the hollow-core slabs, without the need for a load-bearing layer. To ensure both stability and robustness, the connections between the steel structure and the hollow-core slabs have been carefully designed.
A large grandstand staircase has been created in the centre of the building using IPE sections and timber cladding. Three large skylights above the staircase provide ample natural light within the school.
The gymnasium is integrated into the school building and has a clear span of 14.4m, with various pieces of gym equipment mounted on the steel roof structure.
